"We broke the record for most attempts to get in the Book of World Records! They say we’re the most determined neighborhood they’ve ever heard of.”
I love it when something from my past pops up and is magically related to my reality now.
Do you all remember Hey Arnold? I whiled away so many hours of my life watching this show because it was funny and magical. More importantly though, the Hey Arnold! characters were exactly like me. They experienced what I experienced, wondered about the same strange going-ons in the world, and achieved what I achieved.
It’s funny that I’ve discovered the “World Records” episode of Hey Arnold now that I’m working for RecordSetter. What attracted me to RecordSetter in the first place was their sheer belief in human beings. I’ve always said that there are companies out there formed from just goodwill towards others, and RecordSetter is one of them.
At RecordSetter, we believe that everyone is the best at something. And it’s true. Even Hey Arnold! says so (haha). So whether you’re the best at failing attempted records, or eating peanut butter cups, you ARE the best at something.
Thank you RecordSetter and Hey Arnold! for giving a plain old 90’s kid like me hope.
We are only asked to love, to offer hope to the many hopeless. We don’t get to choose all the endings, but we are asked to play the rescuers. We won’t solve all mysteries and our hearts will certainly break in such a vulnerable life, but it is the best way. We were made to be lovers bold in broken places, pouring ourselves out again and again until we’re called home.
